I was at the Hilton for brunch this past Friday - it is defo one of the better ones - free flowing bubbly - double / triple up at last call - curries made to your specifiaction - seafood / sushi all excellent - waiting to go there again!

Grand Heritage is dry. Oryx is OK, food isn't the best in town but its ok - one of the cheaper ones. I really like the Four Seasons - great environment and they are very very attentive. Apparently the Renaissance is really good too (includes cocktails I think).

Spice Market @ W or Vine @ St. Regis are my two favourites.

Just bumping this up ... any other reccomendations? How is the Grand Heritage? And Oryx Rotana? We have tried the Marriot, Grand Hyatt, Sharq and Sheraton (Eid one)..Wondering which one to try next? :-)

We have done the Marriot (near airport), and the W. Both are Really good.. Marriott offers a lot of choice of international cuisine, and i thought the service was very good The W was excellent too - not as much choice, but fantastic ginger margaritas!

Hi Picklz, funnily enough I didn't get to try them all but did these ones.... Grand Hyatt - nice and upmarket, spacious, free flowing champers, good food, not huge choice, kids club far away (but in a good way) Marriott - huge amount of choice but overcrowded imho, squished in next to each other, kids club in middle of place Ritz Carlton - very good food and choice, liked the live music, kids club again in middle of place and I didn't like that there was a smoking section Oryx Rotana - light and airy, decent food but no sashimi, good kids club separate big room, also good live music, sometimes have to hound them for a drink Sharq Village - nice decor and ambient setting by the water, food nice but have to buy drinks separately (unless it was Xmas brunch) Renaissance Marriott - small and poky, good enough food but I hated the decor and felt closed in Still want to try Movenpick and Four Seasons and waiting for the Hilton to start theirs, HTH :)
