Our neighbours are hosting a party on the front lawn (if I can call the small space in front of our houses that) for the last few hours. There's a guy playing some instrument and has also been singing on and off. With all my windows closed and the ACs on I can still hear him and honestly I dont think its done. They could have hosted the party indoors and kept the ncise level down. Am I over reacting or should I give it another hour and call the supervisor?

I find the best way to avoid being bothered by such things is to join in the fun! I always invite my nearest neighbours when I have a party :) So far, I got no complaints, only compliments ;)

Gosh I dont think 8.30 is too bad. After all its Friday night, if it was going on until midnight it might be a problem but 8.30 is not late to have a little fun;)

Well I just gave myself a time and said that if the music does not stop I would call the supervisor. Fortunately they stopped sometime around 8:30. Yes compound life can be irritating in some aspects; I am finding it particularly hard with my neighbours as the noise is always too much on weekends. If its occassional I am sure it would not bother me but usually their parties go on till midnight and it drives me nuts.

What did you decide to do? (Seeing that I'm much too late to offer any advice.) I find that it is always difficult when there is an aspect of compound life that is irritating us. We live in a compound where all of our neighbours are also my husband's co-workers. So we often just bite our tongues and hope that security will notice things on their own. Fortunately though our irritants tend to occur during the daytime hours and not at night. I think I'd have a lot harder time biting my tongue if something was preventing me from sleeping. :) ~ DK
