I would get the blood grouping (pin prick test) done here - its no biggie and while one day they may accept from other countries another day they may not, It only costs QR30 and you can get it done at any medical centre/hospital. You don't need it done before you do your medical (ie. chest xray and blood test for HIV etc) but you do need it for your RP - the medical, fingerprints and blood group all need to be completed before you get your RP - medical needs to be done before fingerprints (but once you have done your medical they will send you an SMS a couple of days later to say that its fine to go for your fingerprints). Don't spin out if they make you go back for the medical more than once - for some reason we've had a lot of people have to go back a number of times lately - they all pass in the end though. I think their xray machine may need a service! LOL! ;)

I was wondering if ... Would also do you good to triple-confirm the paperwork your company requires from you. I had to send in one medical report with my contract before arriving in Qatar.... and then I had to do another one in Qatar. My ex-colleague jokingly explained: the first test one was to make sure I could enter Qatar the second was to make sure I could stay in Qatar [url=http://www.desismileys.com/'>[img'>http://www.desismileys.com/smileys/desismileys_4204.gif[/img'>[/url'>

So, a lot of you are saying you got the blood type certif over there. I was wondering if I must have one on me in order to enter Qatar. I guess I can find out how to get one here, while I'm still in the US, just to be prepared....Really too bad about the mandatory chest x-ray. Needless radiation is something to be avoided, I've heard, unless you have a very compelling reason to get a chest xray.

I had the blood test at Gulf Lab just along from Aramex and it took no time at all. They give a letter with the blood type stated on it. Chest xray is mandatory. If you're having it done at the govt medical centre take a hair tie and a bucket of patience! And wear a plain white T shirt so you don't have to get undressed in the mayhem.

For my son we went to future medical clinic on Al Waab across from Aspire Tower, it took 10 minutes, no problems. They just give you a letter with your type on it. I'm a blood donor in Canada and knew my type, and they just accepted that. The cost is minimal, maybe 100 QAR

We had ours done at Al Ahli Hospital, it was quick & no fuss. You just walk in & wait.

The blood typing is no big deal. You go to a lab, they prick your finger and they determine your blood type.

They accepted our blood group card from another country. Don't know if they always will. For our son we just went to a local lab and had them test his blood, then submitted the lab result. You do not need to donor before you arrive in Qatar, you an do it here, but it might be easier to do it before you come as it will be one less thing to worry about. Just ask a lab for a printout with your blood broil and that is sufficient. Yes, you still have to have the chest X-ray and blood drawn regardless of testing you've done elsewhere for tb, HIV, and hepatitis. If you are pregnant you don't have to have an X-ray, you can request an alternate TB test.

I read in all the wonderful information you have on here, that "Blood Group certificates are required before going for medical tests." This refers to the medical tests that one must have upon arrival in Qatar? I honestly don't know what a blood group certificate is... I guess this is something I must obtain from a doctor in my country before I depart? Also, if my medical tests already show that I'm negative for TB, I STILL have to have a chest xray upon arrival?
