Hi eflowers. To answer your question, I went there for my 14 year old's birthday in December, and it was fantastic! The food was grest, price was high as to be expected, the view was great, as you could see right into the stadium and the Arab games or some such thing was on. It does not spin as fast as advertised, as we were there about 2 hours and it went about 1/2 way around. The piano player was a nice addition, and they don't pack all the tables together so everyone gets a good view of the area. I will go again, maybe for my birthday, as the cake they brought out to him was the best I have had in Doha thus far.

Well, I have heard there will be a "staircase run" to inaugurate something in the building. Apparently one is to pay 50QR to race up the stairs...:/ Please do not ask me why... I'd love to try that! Please post if you hear anything else Carolina :) Hang on....

I have been for dinner. Service was a bit slow and disjointed at times, but they catered well to my dietary requirements and the food was very good. I did find it annoying that there is a barrier type thing at eye height when sitting down, so it was hard to see the view from your seat.

I went up there with 2 friends to have a look, and see the menu. It was not open, however there was no one around, so we looked at the amasing views. That was until the fire alarm went off, with a voice over the sound system telling us to "exit the building via the stairs"! No staff anywhere in sight to direct us, so we started down the stairs. We went down approx 10 floors (we lost count), using the emergency exit stair well. Still no staff anywhere. After 10floors there was no more lighting in the (safety Exit) stair well, it was pitch black . That was when it became very scary. We finally found some staff on a floor that we could actually access from the stairwell (whihc is not every floor) - The very senior staff member we stumbled onto told us they were "just testing the sound System". We were shattered, and anxious having descended all these stairs and now being faced with pitch black stair well, and no assistance. Only to be told they were "testing the sound system". We were ushered out very abruptly to the lift to take the rest of the ride down. Not impressed and I will not return to a building that tall which I know has no lighting in fire exits, no matter how good the food is. It was very frightening for all of us.

I've been there for lunch and it was great. Despite mixed reviews from others, we really enjoyed our food and the service was spot-on. We lingered for 3 hours because the darn thing rotates so slowly! I don't really see the point in going there in the evening, as the views wouldn't be so amazing.
