Hi,
Just recently moved to Abu Dhabi from the UK. We have two young kids and looking for a property to rent. Find this a bit confusing as trying to get it right for the kids and also want to be fairly close to my Husbands work place. So far viewed 4 bedroom apartment in Al Raha beach, didn't like the villa in Al Raha Gardens.
Can anyone advice on the different types of villas and which area would be nice for young kids?
Any agent recommendations would also be appreciated.
My daughter will be attending BIS.
Also would appreciate recommendations for curtain place and furniture. We found a nice place for beds, PAM furniture, reasonable prices too.
Does everyone have a maid here, I am more interested in getting cleaners in, wonder whether the apartments have their own cleaning services that you can buy into.

Greatly appreciate any advice or recommendations as I am completely new to this and feel a bit lost.

Hi Theres quite a few people living in Al Reef with kids at BISAD, Al Reef does have a good community feel and you can get a 5 bed with a pool for 150k just now (have a look on Dubizzle). There's usually an open house on a Saturday with a few agents, (Nationwide, Pink, PSI, The Specialists) worth taking a drive up and follow their signs to have a nosey around. PErsonally I think it's a great place for younger kids, what lets it down is the lack of facilities, eg shops but there is a small corner shop and a takeaway and its a 15 minute drive to Abelas Supermarket, so not too bad. For furniture you can also check out Home Centre (Marina Mall, Dalma Mall) or Homes R Us (Madinat Zayed centre - on Muroor Road - Street 4 between Electra, Street 7 and passport Street 9) both have reasonably priced furniture, and there's always IKEA on Yas Island. I don't have a maid but use a company who come twice a week and are very reliable, there are lots of companies out there, all charging AED 30 to AED 40 per hour approx. Not everyone has a maid, but it is very common as it's much more economical than paying a cleaning company and a babysitter, but it's not for everyone - me included, I don't like the idea of someone living in our home, although I do like the idea of a clean and tidy house all the time - cant have it all I guess! if you are going to be in bisad then look at khalifa city b and mohd. bin zayed city too. its closer than raha or khalifa a, and getting in and out of khalifa a is a nitemare. maids no places do not usually have their own service you either sponsor or use an agency, using a partime on own visa is illegal.
