Thanks so much again:) It's great to know that we can still practice our faith. We are trying to get all the paperwork done but boy there's so much still left to do....! We were informed that there is alot of bureaucracy and they sure werent kidding!

Christianity, among other religions, is accepted and is greatly respected here. The expectation is that one is not to try to convert others, but one is respected to practise their faith, and it is an expectation to respect the many other faiths. Best of luck on the move, you will like it here once you get through the jigsaw of settling.

I know someone who had her recipe books in her crate mutilated - every recipe containing pork was ripped out!

Ask your packers not to be specific (ornaments or statue should do) on the packing list and you will be alright. If the items are to do with your own religion then they will be accepted. We unfortunately had a beautiful large piece of art confiscated as it was not from our faith. How did they know it was not from your faith?

Hi all:) My family and I will be moving to Abu Dhabi next month and had a couple of questions. We have been receiving different information with regards to bringing religious items and are really confused at this point. Is one allowed to bring in religious items such as cruxifixes, bible and other religious icons/articles for personal devotion? Any advice would be greatly appreciated:) Thanks so much:) I do not believe you will have a problem at all. Religious items are freely available here, Ive seen a stall at Mall of the Emirates selling cruxifixes. The church I attend in Abu Dhabi has a large book and gift shop selling just about anything you can get anywhere else in the world.
