Good day to everyone! We are currently living in Qatar but maybe next year we will be going to Abu Dhabi.
And everyone is saying that life in AD is much more expensive than here. So is it possible to live 2 adults + 1 toddler for 5000-7000 dollars per month? (company will pay for the rent)
Thanks for all your answers!

No schooling at all?not even a contribution.Ouch.depends on the curriculum you want but I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.bb2 over to you with the figures;) a lot of companies now do not include allowances or school fees etc, its a lump sum so at the end of the day you have to make sure that you have enough money in the pot to pay out what you need. bsak charge for term fees 10915 fs1 or 14155 fs2-year6. al yasmina charge differently fs1-year6 13860 a lot of companies do not pay school fees or any housing etc, you have to find yourself, this is better for the company as they then do not get involved, and are left with fees for housing etc obviously not so for the individual but now thats the way a lot of companies do.

Yeah its unfortunate about the school fees but the money is there in other areas. Our son is only 4 so just starting school and we hope in years to come there will be a part of the fees paid. Otherwise as I can see it gets quite expensive.

Unfortunately we have to pay for the school ourselves. Now our daughter is in the nursery and we are paying 2400 QAR per month which is 2421 AED. Is there any good school with that money for 4 yeard old?

I'm interested in this question too. We are in a similar situation to you sleepy_fish. We have been offered a salary with housing and insurance included but no school fees. We are also a family of 3.

I guess the conditions will be the same as now in Doha - means company will pay for appartment, provide health insurance and transportation for school. They won't pay for the school ;-(

If the company is paying for the rent, health insurance etc and 5000-7000 USD is just salary, then I would say that you could live quite comfortably in Abu Dhabi
