Hi,
I have a friend coming to visit me from the UK. If he has an International licence is he able to drive my car or only a hire car?

in order to drive a private car you must have a uae licence. gone are the days when you could get a temp licence and drive but nope if you are on visit visa you can only rent a car. if they use yours they will not be insured and you will have to cough up. and would they really like to drive here.... especially the last few days when everyone else seems to be driving worse than normal...... full moon or something in the water.... every day i see many more accidents, and in the exactly same place, and because of bad driving, one lane only but everyone cannot wait and "create" a second lane, and then whoosh an accident, whereby bad enough that the whole road stops and has to be closed by the police.....
