Nope busybee2, other people in the building had connections when we moved in. So it was just good old fashioned "bokra inshaAllah" getting in the way. hahahaha yep bukra inshallah, it should have been bukra bukra then you would have known it would have been a very very very long time.

I would just like to say that after having applied for an eLife connection in July last year, the connection finally went live last night. :D So far, so good. And it only took 10 months. :D well it depends on whether its in your area. when i first moved to kca many moons ago before anybody else...! and people were horrified that i drove that far, across the bridge, and you needed your passport, as that all was out here then was the airport.... it took a year to get internet...! at all.

nope shame it doesnt work out that way, they overcharged me and i should be charging them for all the extra time, meter payments, hassle, petrol etc etc, and still havent been re-imbursed.... [b'>[b'>but on a positive side they are so much better than they used to be[/b'>....[quote'> I can only imagine how spectacularly poor they used to be then !! hehehehe yep the ladies in mafraq are very good, but obviously they cannot perform miracles if its not their job, but they are very good and helpful better than a lot of other offices, i am now hassling the "new golf ball" and it will be done......... Well we have a result............after 2 years of hassling at "the new golf ball" they have adjusted my account and the 14,000 dirhams is gone!!!!! So they are getting better, yipppeeeeeee, one very happy EW'er!!!!! And my internet speed is ok now, time to catch up on Corrie well i am currently on 6 months and still counting........

Yeah i called the 101 number to be advised that i have 14,000AED outstanding from an account i had(or didnt ever)have connected back in 2007!!!!!!!! They said they slow the connection down to make me pay the bill? Off to the Etisalat office i go.............. Surely before the bill hit 14,000,did alarm bells not ring for them It could only happen here............. :( Oh my..... what a bill. We have Du and for the past couple of weeks we have had a very slow connection and trying to get an answer as to why is very frustrating. So we just carry on and have these nasty conversations with the computer, but nothing improves the speed.

They said they slow the connection down to make me pay the bill? Off to the Etisalat office i go.............. Surely before the bill hit 14,000,did alarm bells not ring for them It could only happen here............. :( Oh my..... what a bill. On a positive note, maybe it's like speeding fines and you will be able to negotiate to pay only 50%??? ;)

Our work connection was exceedingly slow, getting slower by the hour, when we Called they said it had been disconnected as monies outstanding, but all had been paid, nevertheless rushed down there to settle what they wanted to get reconnected and will fight with them later. No wires cut that we've heard of, just a darn slow system grrr

It could be a coincidence but I do wonder if world happenings making "big brother" watch the internet a little closer slows things down?? Or that could just be the sceptic in me wondering.
