Ask the reception at Health Plus clinic to make an appointment with another Doctor there. Dr Mohammed or Dr Shareen are both experts in thyroid issues

Yes you should be visiting a GP. Based on your family history he/she may do a range of tests and can refer to a related specialist.

A GP should be able to order a blood test to check your thyroid function. I would then book with a specialist if the results are abnormal.

Hello ladies, I've been having some issues lately and think it might be related to my thyroid as hypothyroidism runs through my immediate family. I would like to have some tests done, on previous forums I have see Dr Thomas Kunt's name a lot as highly recommended so I just booked an appointment with him. Unfortunately his earliest availability is in one months time, I would prefer to see someone sooner.. it would be a good chance to see a doctor during this quiet period at work. I don't know what the situation is in UAE in terms of GP, do I need a GP? Would a GP perform these tests? How do i find a good GP? Any recommendations? Alternatively, can someone recommend another good thyroid doctor? I've read a few bad reviews about doctors prescribing wrong medications and wrong dosages so I really want to make sure I am dealing with a professional. Any advice much appreciated!
