Hello friends, my husband, children (2) and I are hoping to move to your neck of the woods and I need some advice re finding a legal job for my husband. I am a teacher, so I know that I'll easily find a job (have already had an offer), the 'problem' is to find my husband (a lawyer) a job. I'm sure you'll agree that we'll not be able to survive on a teachers' salary alone! He has applied for various jobs using recruiting sites, but has had no replies. I was wondering if anyone out there might have better advice, or maybe a contact at a company that may need an in-house lawyer. I hope to hear some encouraging news as we're really excited to join you out in the Emirates.
Thanks!!!

Thanks for all the answers so far. We will definitely try the websites and leads. To answer your questions: his PQE is 20 years, so he is quite senior. He specialises in general commercial law and law of contract. Cheers

Try www.gulftalent.com which lists most professional roles, including legal, advertised by most of the recruiters. It will include roles in-house and in law firms. Most of the large law firms have an office in Abu Dhabi and Dubai so check out those directly too. If he doesn't know where to start, then go to http://www.legal500.com/c/united-arab-emirates and he can select the area of law he works in and then check out each firm, their rating, where the offices are and who are the active partners. It is definitely easier to get a position once here though.

What area does he specialise in and what's his level of PQE?

just apply to the main ones here, but its easier once you are actually living here. but even the law profession has taken a tumble too.
