Hello Everyone,
I will be in Abu Dhabi for 2 month starting the end of September. Are there any group get-togethers or anything so I can meet some people while I am there? I will probably be living there fulltime after January. My kids are older and staying in the states so it will just be me. I would like something to do so I don’t go crazy in the hotel apartment. Someone told my husband there was an American community someplace with villas for rent. If anyone has any information about that I would appreciate it. This will be a major change for me since my kids are not coming with me and my only fear is being lonely and bored. Hopefully I can meet some new friends here and that won’t happen. Thanks for the help. :)

This might be a good start for you: http://www.awnabudhabi.com - they are great. I went to my first meeting and they are all extremely welcoming!! I would also recommend getting their book "Living in Abu Dhabi", it has so much helpful and valuable information.
