@ lasoph Thanks very much for sharing. It's heartbreaking to see my DD shaking at the slightest mention of teeth or anything related to that. She had two root canals, removed two milky teeth and she's till 7 years old! aaaarghhhh @busybee2 I should try the British Clinic and hope DD gets rid of her phobia little by little. Thanks a lot :) I took her to Dubai's Joy Clinic a few months ago, their website was impressive and heard a couple of friends say they're good with Kids. Unfortunately the dentists isn't child-friendly at all..she didn't explain what she will do with her, nor did she try to crack a joke to ease the situation. I took her back home to AD without any treatments. I am contemplating doing the dental work needed under General Anasthesia, some say it works best with kids who exhibit high anxiety levels, etc.. what do you think ladies? I'm honetsly terrified at the thought of hospitalization for dental works...but could be less traumatic for her...I don't have a strong stand at this yet. edited by Italianfamily4 on 14/06/2012 my son who was scared of doctors of any shape, gets on with Colum Boyce no problems, he suffers with anxiety and had a gagging reflex which of course doesnt help with fillings etc, but with CB he didnt even know that he had had a needle, and he has even had to have a root canal and with absolutely no problems at all. I think you really need to find one person and stick with them, the more they become confident the easier it will be. my son who really had many medical issues and of course pyschologically as well with anybody in the medical profession gets on great with CB. when we first arrived 15 years ago here dr Ron had to take off his white coat before my son would come anywhere close!!! back in the uk he would even at under 1 know which road he was heading down to the hospital and suffer with anxiety etc.... so as long as you try and explain and find someone that you are happy with try to keep it up, but of course everyone's experience is different. edited by busybee2 on 14/06/2012

I always go to Colum Boyce at British Dental Clinic (all the dentists are good there) for my son, who was absolutely frightened of anybody in a "white coat" because of medical issues, he is exceptionally good. (I had to take my friends girl to another one near adnoc in kca and she was an arabic lady, but wasnt impressed with her "attitude" for a 5 year old. The parking in hamdan is better now with the meters, but it is hit and miss, if you think that you will have a problem park and get a taxi. I have never had a problem with them fitting me in in an emergency, if you regularly go to the same place then they will accommodate you.

Poor you, we had a horrible experience there too, my son endured injection after injection. It was an ordeal and I thought it was totally unwarranted to treat a child like that. We have tried several and I we are now registered with the dentist at the Intercon. He is very nice with the children and it is easy to park. We have not had any treatment there however, just check ups. Dr Bawa 026665323. Before that we were at the British Dental Clinic where my son had good treatment but it is too difficult to park as it is in Hamdan. We have had an issue where we needed an emergency appointment where they could not accommodate and told us to go to A&E which I was not impressed with. I can't remember the name of the dentist I'm afraid. Tel 026773308 Good luck!
