I did mention to my DH that the phones need to be registered, he seemed to think that we wouldnt have to as we registered our passport when we bought the sim cards.

Where can I find out the actual facts....

Where can I find out the actual facts.... because you can buy a sim card anywhere, there has been major mix ups.... so they are making everyone do it again, you can get the form online and take it in, everyone has to do it unless of course you only just bought one in last few months. i never got a text but i went before everyone paniced and there was no queue and it was easy, do it while it is easy. this same thing happened about id cards, and there were people standing out in the heat for a whole day trying to get it done, and they failed... so do it now. just because you have asked others and they have said no need to do it, eventually you will have to so if you go past an etislat and there isnt much of a q then just do it now to be safe.

I asked on our school group, and apparently if you have no text to say go and register, you do nothing... for the time being anyway.

Where can I find out the actual facts.... Most of us had to give our passports over when we bought our sim cards Your passport copy would of been used only to prove you were a resident here That does not necessarily mean it is registered Registration is a new thing and we should all get SMS's advising when we need to do this
