we're planning a day trip to the capital from Dubai and want to know apart from Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque what are the other places to see. We were thinking of spending the day in AD and spending the sunset at Jabel Hafeet in Al Ain. Please recommend.

Thanks!

the tours for the mosque start at 10am but the drive from there to al ain is 1.5 hours. the other things to do in ad is the big bus tour, the heritage village, afternoon tea at the emirates palace, go karting at yas marina circuit, take a trip to the new ikea shop at yas island, lunch on the shuja boat, falcon hospital tour, mangrove trip, trip to the museum on saaidyat island........ obviously you couldnt do them all in 1 day! Hi, busybee - I didn't realise one of the museums was open on Saadiyat island now - which one? Thanks. yep only the 1 as mentioned the exhibition is open until 27th june i think so plenty time to see it

Only one museum is actually built on Saadiyat at the moment. The current exhibition is Treasures of Mesopotamia, exhibits are from British Museum and Al Ain. There is a lovely restaurant /coffee place there with a nice outside area too. It is well signed on the road out from AD to Yas, don't know about coming in the other direction. yeh i know the junction but there is a signpost on the main road advertising it but not sure its actually got a signpost at the junction..... think its signed from ad island itself tho

Al Ain is about an hour and a half drive and the journey up to the top of Jebel Hafeet is quite long, so if you go to the mosque you are not leaving much time for anything else in AD. You could go to the Heritage Village, Ferrari World/Yas Island. You can go for coffee at the top of the tower in Marina Mall. Falcon Hospital would be too long a trip.
