Hope someone can help....

I'm in the UK, DH is in AD and he needs to send his UK driving licence to me asap (he was caught speeding whilst back here visiting us!) so that i can forward it to the police.

Anyone know the best way to get it to me URGENTLY? (His office is near the airport)

TIA :)

If you are involved in an accident or whatever in the UK and use your UAE license, will the courts contact the licensing authority here to inform them of any penalties? who knows. remember a little while ago, where certain people ship their flash cars out to london and double park on the yellow lines, you can drive a foreign car in the uk for 6 months.... was anything done there nope. so i would say that they have the opportunity to chase you up but dont think they do. but legally you are not allowed to drive using your uk licence.

Anyone know the best way to get it to me URGENTLY? (His office is near the airport) TIA :) can i ask is he a resident of the uae, ie living outside the uk, if he is he shouldnt be driving in the uk on his uk driving licence as the insurance would not cover him, if you are not there as a resident you should use your uae driving licence as technically if you are a brit the uae police should take your uk driving licence away when issue a uae one, and if then you wouldnt have a problem with points on your licence and sending back the driving licence etc BB2 is spot on. Although the UAE do not generally ask for your licence (they used to and some GCC countries do). You are not entitled to your UK licence once you are non-resident.You're meant to surrender it to the DVLA. And yes blah blah they'll not know. But I wouldn't want to claim on the insurance. They'll find out! My brother makes a living from it. they never mentioned at all when i first got my uae licence here some 14 years or so ago..... but they should take if off you, but then again i cant see that happening here, what them trying to send loads of them back to the DVLA, when hiring a car anywhere in the world just use your uae licence, i do, last time i used it at heathrow a few times last year, its not a problem at all.

I had to post something urgently to the UK last week. DHL will deliver next day, but you need to get it to them mid afternoon. It cost an eye watering dh240 [it was just a letter, not heavy'> but I got a text from them when it was delivered. Office is on Airport road, near Babyshop.
