Hi

Does anyone know the criteria for what profession is stated on your residency visa please?

Is it your actual job title or is it the profession in which you are trained i.e. doctor, lawyer etc, even if you are not actually working in that role in the UAE.

I am a lawyer but my job title in UAE will be a Senior Consultant (basically I am providing legal services but not under the banner of being a lawyer.)

It is just that it seems useful for various types of sponsorship if my profession on my visa were stated as "Lawyer", but I want to know if I can ask my new employer to arrange this for me, rather than having "Senior Consultant" on my visa.

With kind regards

Maria

Thanks a lot, Busybee, I will have a word with my new Employer to see what they can do in terms of putting me down as a legal consultant or manager. With kind regards Maria there are rules about what the title can be but as long as you are over a certain salary limit you are fine, think its like 10k per month etc but you have to have a certain level of salary etc in order to sponsor especially if you are a woman etc.

With kind regards Maria its your job title, manager is a good title to have. if they put down senior legal consultant/manager or something like that i would say that would be fine. my hubs is a civil engineer, but last time they put on his visa ship repair manager (bit of cross translation) lol had to be changed...!! lol
