Teaching in Abu Dhabi gov. schools? What's your experience been?

Think it depends on which grade you'd be teaching (KG, primary or 10 - 12). Primary may have discipline issues, for example. In KGs you would be working in partnership with a local teacher. Flexibility and a willingness to learn counts for a lot - Abu Dhabi schools are in a state of transition, and there are reasons for this - if everything were fine they wouldn't be going through the reform process they're going through, and they wouldn't be hiring expat teachers - something to bear in mind! Best of luck, and as Pootle Flump suggested, probably a good idea to check out other forums. And think ADEC is hiring now....

I'm thinking about applying to teach English in an Abu Dhabi gov. school. Does anyone here work for these schools? What's your experience been like? are you thinking of working for adec as a licenced teacher?? if so there are a number of threads relating to these jobs on numerous forums, might be worth googling it
