Yes inside, I hadn't thought about noise and it is open to the second floor in this area, but the air conditioner is loud enough it would probably drown it out anyway. LOL
By "entry" do you mean outside or inside? If inside - bear in mind that fountains can be quite noisey - especially if this is also where stairs are to another floor - the noise will echo upstairs.
I'm still wondering what to do with my huge entry. The whole area is 22' X 22' and has pillars set in from the corners, leaving 10.5' X 10.5 area in the centre. DH thinks we should check into the possibility of a water fountain in this area. Does anyone know where I can get one or if I need a professional installer and some idea of the price of one. Can anyone tell me where to go from here?
