Having only being here for 6 weeks, we are due our first set of visitors! My dear frind and her 2 daughters (5,7) I am not sure what to do with them. I am constrained by having to pick up my kids 1.30 and 2.30 from school. Any suggestions of fun half day things we could do? I want to give her a wonderful holiday as she massively deserves one!

I recneltyhad both my mother and a very rare visit from a friend who has never been to the middle East. I worked during part of the time, plus kids at school, so these were things we did in mornings or afternoons...in other words, not taking all day :- 1) morning visit to Sheikh Zayed National Mosque. 2) Falcon Hospital 3) Heritage Village out by Marina Mall 4) late breakfast at Cafe Arabia (see trip advisor for more information) 5) Fun/interesting shopping at Madinat Zayed, with cake/tea/curry (?) at the food court there. visit KM market and buy scarves and shaylas for next to nothing :-) 6) Like fabric? Explore the shops behind HOme Centre/Novotel and Hamdan 7 visit to Manarat Sadiyat (sp?). Great exhibit on Mesopotamia and the new arts/cultural district. Fanr is a nice restaurant out there, so you can do lunch. 8) Lunch at Lebanese Flower in Khalidiya area I'm sure to think of others.
