The first string of international cosplayer guests have been revealed for Middle East Film & Comic Con - and they don't disappoint

And just like that, it's almost March and we're staring down the barrel of the region's geekiest time of the year!
Dubai's annual pop culture convention, the highly-awaited Middle East Film & Comic Con is returning from March 5 - 7 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, and has revealed their first wave of international guest cosplayers.
Netherlands-based cosplayers Rei Suzuki and Kaoru Lily will be joining Comic Con Dubai 2020. MEFCC's Cosplay Competition will also take place, with prizes of up to AED 2,500 for grabs! The best cosplayers in the region will also be picked for the World Cosplay Summit (WCS) 2020 Championship Finals, so this is your chance to take your cosplay persona and reach for stardom at the World Cosplay Summit Championship finals in Japan!

Brazil and Netherlands-based cosplayer Mariana, better known for her cosplays as Rei Suzuki, started cosplaying back in 2005 as the character Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist.
"That same series brought me to represent the Netherlands in 2019 during the World Cosplay Summit together with my duo Kaoru Lily, where we went as Edward Elric and Roy Mustang!" Rei added.
The popular cosplayer loves to bring to life a wide range of video game characters, especially from Nintendo. She enjoys trying different techniques with every project, but most importantly, have fun by dressing up together with her fellow cosplayer friends.

Kaoru Lily began cosplaying in 2008 and is currently a member of Netherlands-based cosplay group PRISM, with a variety of popular characters made, including Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist and Yang Xiao Long from RWBY.
The veteran cosplayer represented the Netherlands with Rei Suzuki at the World Cosplay Summit in 2019.
"Through cosplay, I developed a variety of crafting skills - but what makes cosplay so special to me is the bonds that are created thanks to cosplay," said the cosplayer.
"I've met amazing people from all around the world. How cosplay brings us all together like that is what I truly appreciate!" Kaoru added.
