Just wondering if anyone know's of any alcohol/liquor stores in abu dhabi where you don't need a licence. I know of 2 in Al Ain but heading to Abu Dhabi this weekend and would like to skip having to trek all the way to Al Ain for the sake of a few bottles of wine! Thanks!

yep - its near carre four... If carre four is on your left and your on the main road (airport road i think) Turn left past carre four, so the carpark entrance is on your left. You reach a roundabout. Go straight across, then turn right, then left and then it should be on the right. Look for a sanded carpark next to the gold building. The entrance is up some stairs on the sand at the bank of the gold building. Im not sure about weekends, but during the week it closes between 2pm - 4pm.

High Spirits nr Carrefour on Airport Road. Its in National Hotels building. If you google it, it has a map that describes its location much better than i can!! Never need a licence but check opening hours as i believe they shut from 1pm til 4pm or something like that. HTH
