this is a tropical rainforest plant mostly found in swamps of southeast Asia ............ needs warmth and PLENTY of water - the soil should be moist at all times. Try splitting the plant in half and repotting - it will need standing in a warm place out of direct sunlight. Stand the pot in a shallow bowl of water - tepid not cold.. stop feeding it fertiliser ... there's enough in the soil - if you get stuck or want it repotting - give me an sms/phone and i'll come and repot/split it . hope that helps x

Thanks SamD. Leaves are going yellow, some are dying. But, overall, the plant is on the dying side. Not thriving...the seller told me to water once a week. I feel really sad watching it die :-(

Not an expert, but would as the first responder said - think you are underwatering? Did the leaf tips go brown? That would be a bit of a give away for that. If the outside leaves are going brown and slimy in one go, too much water. You'll need to nurse it: If dry, sit in a bucket of water filled with enough water to come up to 1cm below the rim of the pot for an hour, get it out and let it drain. Repeat when it starts to dry out (you're going to have to stick your fingers in the soil and see if it is still moist below the surface - don't wait until it's like a rock :)) If too much, don't water until it has dried out a bit. With fertiliser, it will just burn it unless you are keeping the water up to it. Don't focus on fertiliser until it has recovered. HTH

keen gardener at home but not here and not familiar with this particular plant but watering once a month doesnt sound very much? - if its leaves are drooping and looking dry would try giving it more water - if leaves yellowing often a sign of too much water.

We have this plant here: (please see the pic) http://www.google.ae/imgres?imgurl=http://www.plantdirections.com/Aglaonema.JPG&imgrefurl=http://www.plantdirections.com/Plant_Gallery.htm&h=640&w=480&sz=141&tbnid=9mQQnUEggxUlzM:&tbnh=137&tbnw=103&prev=/images%3Fq%3Daglaonema%2Bplant&zoom=1&q=aglaonema+plant&hl=ar&usg=__JAyIXj8UHjWmndNCnFRMglpQMY4=&sa=X&ei=C1JzTfynG4jvsgbMoZ2EDg&ved=0CDEQ9QEwBg It's of Aglaonema family. The plant is dying....I don't know what to do. I water it once a month(1.5L), put plant food once a month(as instrcuted when we bought it). I kept it under indirect sunlight. Is there anything I can do to revive it?How much water should I put? How much fertilisiers? What type of fertilisers? Many thanks.
