Thank you! I will find out more about alexandrite lasers. I have finished 3 sessions underarm diode laser treatment at another medical center. The therapists were great, but it was not a comfortable experience. Even with 2 thick coats of emla, I could still feel the laser beam prick like fire each time. That special cooling gel they apply before treatment was truly a lifesaver! <em>edited by karendsa on 07/09/2012</em>

Thank you. I don't know the difference between IPL and alternatives? I wonder if 6 sessions would be enough to zap it for good on the average person?

Hi, it's not IPL . The machine they use is Alexandrite, I looked it up and did read some bad reviews about burns afterwards etc, but I spoke to the doc and she said it will be fine and it was. The pain was like a feeling of a pinch/slight burn but only at point of contact of the machine and afterwards it was fine. I can imagine the bikini area being more painful but I suppose it's better than getting 6 treatments of this than a lifetime of waxing it.

I'm having my legs done there, only had one treatment so can't comment on the results, but the doc is lovely, the reception staff are also very nice. I did find it a little painful when she was doing it, but laser can (but no side effects like burning or anything) so it may be more painful on the bikini area.....but no pain no gain!!!
