We were in a similar situation a couple of years ago - only our nanny had worked with us for a few years and she really wanted to see Spain (she is also from the Philippines). I was in touch with the Spanish Embassy in AD who had a special form to fill in for domestic workers. When we went in person to submit the form, I have never in my life had such rude and racist treatment from anyone, let alone an embassy. The Spanish lady basically told us, before we even handed over the papers, that our nanny was not going to get a visa. We asked why, given that they have a special form for them etc. She tells us, in front of the nanny, that we don't know how these domestic workers behave. That they put children's hands in boiling oil and on and on she went. We were completely dumbfounded as our nanny is an important part of our family. She takes care of our precious children and is such a sweet lady and to have someone who has no idea about her say such blatantly idiotic things, really had me in tears. Both my husband and I cried on the way back to Dubai. Just couldn't believe people were so awful. But the lady was right - we were refused the visa - they took our money and gave no explanation for the refusal. Not that it matters - we are American/Canadian. Good luck with that.

Hello ladies, I have a Filipina maid with us for few months, and we have bought her air ticket to go to Spain for vacation togather in March. However when we try to apply her visa to Spain only we realise that she needs to work for us for more than one year only we can apply a Spain tourist visa for her. And she can't apply one on her own as she doesn't have a bank account in Dubai to show 3 months statement. can anyone please advice what can we do to get her visa done as we have bought her air ticket and I have 2 toddlers to take care, we need her help throughout the trips. Thanks!
