I always hire using my UAE one only so you should be fine. Have found lately that the best rates in SA are via Emirates Airline website and you get much better deals when you prehire as opposed to just going in when you get there. Used to use yescarhire.co.uk but they seem to have disappeared!

Yes - have done it on several occasions. Take both parts with you but usually they only want to see the photo card not the paper part.
