Has anyone ever arranged this? Is it a possibility? A friend of mine said her bank automatically offered her a payment holiday (i.e one month without paying in Ramadan last year) and, after a mix up with my wages this month I could really benefit from one this month.

THanks for the suggestion clever bubbles, you are indeed clever! I can still make the payment, it's not that serious. Just will be a strictly budgeted month so if there had been the option of saving the few thousand by way of a payment holiday I wanted to know! :D (gloaty gloaty!)

overdraft for one month with your bank so that you can still pay?

Lol, yep that seems to be the expected solution. They admitted it's their mistake...but told me they will rectify it next month and not before. Ah well, a slow, quiet month ahead of me ensues!

The only holiday the banks will give you is one in the Dubai Detention centre if you don't pay. The banks are ruthless here and not known to show understanding. Sorry to hear about your salary issues. Employers are also not very understanding when something goes wrong with your salary and they expect you to wait until next month's pay where they will sort it out. Awful really.
