all Clematis needs are cool roots - well drained - poor soil isn't an issue - if you are going to plant it - make sure you really mulch the top soil with gravel or flag stones - try jasmine it grows a treat and smells delicious ...

Ok so i need to get a few of these Clematis plants for a bit of privacy on my balcony... on the internet it says they do very well in bright direct sunshine....excellent, but a friend has them on a permanently shaded balcony and although they are climbing the walls, we have a question.......will they still flower without direct sun? not really green fingered, but having a go!
