AXA have told my DH there is an upper limit of DH1M on contents insurance which seems insufficient for people here who have rugs, artwork etc. as well as the usual household items. Who do you insure with and what is your upper limit?

200k but no artwork or carpets worth insuring. We do pay an extra big chunk for jewellery cover though. AXA btw and they only insure your artwork, paintings, sculpture etc for theft and fire NOT the maid dropping them! :D

Sorry just reaidng this post makes me think twice...1 million dirhams contents insurance? OMG I need to talk to hubby, I just renewed ours and was increasing it to the new minimum that axa has of dhs 75000 - I really have no idea how much to insure for. We have an average size three bedroom villa (rented) in jumeirah, nicely furnished but by no means a palace, normal family stuff, and the usual run of household gadgets that you'd expect. How much contents insurance do you have? Thoughts / advice please? Thanks

I don't believe this is correct, all I know is that or anything above 350,000 you need AXA management approval to authorise the insurance policy - if you would like more info let me know.
