Does anyone have good experiences using a maid agency?

I'm hesitant to go down this route since we only have a certain budget for the maid, and I don't want to end up paying her too little because of the fees involved with using an agency- BUT I've been spending way too much time looking for a maid/waiting for them to not show up or asking for more than what we've advertised for...
