Hi
Im 8 weeks pregnant and i need 4 fillings, my denist said i should get them done now(temporary fillings), as after my last pregnancy i had a few root canals etc ( they say pregnancy effects your teeth? ?
Reserched it abit and it doesnt reccomend having them done, also bit worried about the numbing etc surely hat could effect the bump?
Do u think its ok to go ahead and get them done?

The local anaesthetic will not harm your unborn baby, so it would be safe to get your fillings however if you are getting replacement fillings and are having silver ones removed then i would proceed with caution as they contain mercury, if they are first time fillings the chances of them requiring rootcanal treatment is very slim and so i would advise you to get the permanant fillings done as no point in having temporary ones as you will be paying out twice and apart from anything when you have a newborn the last thing you will be wanting to do with any spare time is spend it on dentist chair - being pregnant affects your gum health not your actual teeth. congrats on pregnancy :)
