Hi,

I am currently searching for someone to do re-upholsering of a nursery rocking chair. I read on an earlier post that most ladies recommended Everest, but their number seem to no longer exist. Has anyone done re-upholsering lately and if so could you please indicate what you had re-upholstered and the costs of the same. I just need an indication as I have NO idea what the going rate is and dont want to spend a fortune.

If you have any other companies to recommend I am all ears!

Thanks Ladies! I found a company on a previous forum - Desert Sun Furnitures (opposite the Karama Post Office on Zabeel Road). They charged me AED500 to re-upholster my rocking chair with artificial leather. Will be collecting tomorrow and will advise on the quality of the work. In the interim you can contact Vijay - T050 244 1375 (think he is the owner)

Sorry for being a bit dim, but 70 dhs per seater? Does this mean my 3 seater will cost 210dhs to re-upholster? That sounds very cheap! Is it just the seat pad or the whole frame etc? Got a large 3+2+1 that I would love to smarten up but fear the price would put me off! Thanks and sorry for the hijack x

I have used Churchill many times ( actually booked for this sunday again ). They are always on time, work fast & always do a very good job. They charge AED 70 per seater , and they charge me AED 40 for my small carpet.Not sure how much they will charge you for your rocking chair as they have a minimum amount.You may have to book for your couch as well.What i know is you will never call any other company once you try them.Their number is 8007076

I used a company to recover my sofas but for the life of me can't remember the name and have lost their brochure so don't have their phone number. I do have the email address though. It is m a l a z i n t @ h o t m a i l dot com and his name is Malaz Ayoubi. They are based in Sharjah but he will come to your house with fabric swatches which you can choose from. They were reasonably priced and we were very happy with the result.
