Ffff... I´ve managed to delay payment for Raffles till April 5th...hoepfully by then i should have the assessment? i might anyways call again this week and ask when the assessments will be, and again where he stands on the list... Worst case scenario, he can go to Raffles for a year and then trasnfer to DBS for year 1....

They told me all along his number on the list and I just presumed 3-4 kids would leave. I underestimated the amount of siblings! When we got email to come for assessment I thought he must have a place, as no problems with assessment year before. At the FS2 assessment most of them siblings, head teacher said straight up they had no places yet but would be filling what places come up from these kids ( I think 11 siblings assessed? and they have priority) so I realized then not much of a chance! Luckily got the place in Jan.

Oh no JM! Well, the thing is being in a Raffles nursery as he is, he has the right to get in Raffles school (but i have to pay 1500 now which will be deducted from first term. i can delay the payment a few weeks but not forever...) he is in no other waiting list because my story is exactly like yours!!! He was on waiting list for F1, i turned down the palce because he was sooo happy in nursery....so this time roudn they told me they ahd kept him on waiting list and he was now top 4. But then when i called again, it was a different lady, she said he was in the top 10??? ... you anyways did the assessment in April and they then told you there was no spot for him??? uf....should i keep calling....argh!

Do you have your son on any other waiting lists? places offered anywhere else? It might be fine this year but my son was number 4 on the wait list last year after turning down an FS1 spot the previous year (which I lived to regret) and there were just so many siblings that he missed out! Even some of the siblings missed out. It's because they only have 19 kids in 4 classes for FS1 and the same for FS2 so no extra spaces if everyone returns. My son was offered a place on Boxing day for Jan term, just 2 children had left and my son got one space and a sibling the other, we were told better to take it now as still 70 odd kids on the wait list for Year 1 this September! He absolutely loves it there and we are so pleased we made the decision to take the place and move schools. I had not entertained the idea of him not getting a place for Sept 2010 as he'd been on the list since he was 18mths but they just didn't have any places. I did a real scramble and put his name down at a few schools but it was February and most schools had taken there kids for the year. He ended up at Regent for a term. I even contemplated him staying home for a term!!! He would have gone mad. HTH

thank you sooo much!!! i really want him to join DBS, he´s in the top 10 in the waiting list so the told me unless there´s a lot of siblings he would get in. the did mention assessment would be in April but was just worried as i hadn´t received any letter yet and i really don´t want to be a pain calling weekly... while we´re at it, do you know if they have summer camp? I´´m having baby number 2 in July (end) so was planning for my son to join the camp at DBS to familiarize with the school. Thankx!
