Just FYI to get to Hatta Pools you now need to cross a UAE check point. We hadn't been there for at least 2 years so were unaware.
Near Al Madam I think we were stopped and asked for UAE ID card or passport. Unfortunately I didn't have mine with me so had to turn back. :(
