I asked exactly the same couple of days ago. Here's the link to the thread: http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=146388 After the car is registered to the buyer, take a photocopy of the new registration card and send it to your insurance company so that they can stop the insurance on your old car (and might even get money back) in abu dhabi you have to get a letter stating that you have sold the car, the new rego card wont be enough, not sure if same procedure in dubai though.

Thank you so much! I did do a search on 'sell a car' but it didn't register any hits.

There was a thread about it very recently: http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=146388 Re your insurance, you can get some money back for the months that aren't used. Salik: you take it out of the car. It's on your name and can't be transferred. You can use the same account (with the money left on it) for your new car, you only need a new sticker.

Help, I am out of my depth here! I want to sell my car and I think I have a buyer. Does any one know the steps I have to take to do this? Also what happens to the salik tag on the windsreen? What happens to my insurance?
