How to Use This Site!

EW hosts a wealth of continually updated information, news and services. With 200,000+ unique visitors - different people - coming to ExpatWoman every month, registering over 4 million page views, we are aware that your interests range, and you're not all looking for the same thing, but we hope we have a good package of services for you all. Here's a quick round up of what we do.

ExpatWoman.com is split into regional sub-sites; currently Abu Dhabi & Al Ain, Dubai & Northern Emirates & Qatar. Whatever you are doing on the site, start by clicking through to your region of interest, either by clicking on the picture icon on the home page or load in your favourites : www.ExpatWoman.com/AbuDhabi, www.ExpatWoman.com/Dubai or www.ExpatWoman.com/Qatar
That way you will be presented with the right regional frame and menus - features of local interest, local classifieds, local competitions, local events, local job ads etc.
Whenever you access the forum, whichever site you come through, you will be able to read and contribute to any of the boards.

Helping our readers get around a site of this size, presenting so much information on a huge range of topics, and keeping you updated so as to be aware of what’s new... well, we’ll admit it’s a challenge! We upload 100+ features every month, some of which have general appeal and some are focused on specific interest groups such as ‘young mums’ or ‘expats on the move’ or ‘house-hunters’.... All we can say is take the time to have a look through the different sections and learn what appeals to you, then check back periodically. To find your way around :
Mouse over the top tabs to see the drop down menus, giving you a full summary of the different feature sections each site offers. Click on any one tab and the Feature Home Page for that section (eg. Families) will give you a further summary with latest headlines of features and news added.
The second horizontal menu beneath the tabs (or you can use the drop down menu) gives you the sub-sections within (eg. Pregnancy & Babies, Vets & Pets or Parties & Costumes) and each of these has its own landing page and each of those is also updated whenever a new feature comes in.
Our vertical left-hand menu gives all the options in drilled down detail. It should be easy for you to find what you’re looking for but any problems, contact [email protected] and we’ll help you in any way we can.

Forum - Our very popular forum is split into regional & themed boards. There are additonal regional boards for countries/Emirates for which we currently don't have dedicated sites. The themed boards cover topics with pan-regional appeal with a view to putting you in touch with women with similar interests, and women who can offer advice on those specific topics. Anyone can read the forum but to post a new message or reply, you need to join the site.

Join Our Site - To join the ExpatWoman.com site simply click on the link at the top of the page and complete the application. Please note we only approve women members. When you sign up, you need to indicate which region(s) is(are) of interest as that will determine which membership list you will join. If you are living in/moving to Qatar, tick Qatar only. If you are undecided and interested at this stage to hear about both say, Dubai & Abu Dhabi, then join both.
As a member of the site you will

* have access to participate in the forum
* be able to enter ExpatWoman competitions, quizzes and challenges
You can manage which list you are on at any time very simply by clicking on your profile. If no list is indicated we default to Dubai. You can of course unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time by clicking through on the unsubscribe link on a mail. Please note that unsubscribing cancels your membership and hence forum & competitions access.

Classified Ads - You do not need to be a site member to post your classified ads.
Jobs Ads - Jobs Ads are added daily to the Dubai site.
Deals - We always have a list of great Dubai Deals.
Online Games - We took a trip down memory lane and added Pacman, Froggit & Tetris to Simon and Sudoko. And don’t forget the Daily Quiz in the Competitions section.

Competitions - We are given some great stuff to pass on to readers! We strike a balance between making it interesting with a daily quiz, Sudoku challenge.... and making it easy, with many just requiring members to sign up to say they’d like to be entered in the draw ;-)

Events - ExpatWoman hosts some 400+ events a year in Dubai from the weekly ExpatMums & Tots, ExpatBumps & Babes & ExpatWoman Coffee Mornings through to special events covering a whole range of interests: Beauty, Cinema Mornings, Education, Fashion & Jewellery, Finance & Taxation, Health & Wellbeing, Motoring Challenges, Travel and local interest tours. For the weekly events there is no need to pre-book. For special events, tickets can be bought on-line or at the weekly events.

And... Banner Ads - One more reason to access the site functions through the right regional frame – you get to see links to services and offers relevant to where you live.
Occasionally the banners overlap the forum when a message title is too long. When the moderators spot it they edit the title – otherwise, someone please mention to the original poster to do the same.
