Thanks SW. Gosh, is that really all I need to do. Good to know. edited by Sugarbeach on 18/02/2011 Yep, really easy and if you get it right the meat is scrumptious. I normally do a sort of stew with, herbs, S & P, rosemary, potatoes, carrots, onions, sometimes mushrooms and a nice stock. I do mine in the oven, i wack the heat up for a bit then drop down and leave for a few hours. You can also go the tomato sauce/beans route if you want as well.

I do a moroccan lamb shank recipe that you could easily adapt by adding a tin of beans, its something like this, 5 lamb shanks, 1/2 bottle red wine, 2 TBspn cinnamon, 2 tins of chopped tomatoes 2 onions sliced, 4 cloves of garlic, 1 Tblespn, oregano, 3 bay leaves, 1 tspn salt, 3 small chilli's torn, 2 tbspn sugar - throw them all in with your beans - cook for 2 1/2 - 3 hours...actually that timing is in the oven at 180.....garnish with mint and italian parsley roughly chopped....I normally serve with cous cous. In a slow cooker I would probably reduce the fluid, so I would reduce the wine, or leave it out if you don't have alcohol.

No, just shove them in the pot with some veg, beans and stock, herbs and cook slow, couple of hours. Meat should fall off bone nicely then.
