Good morning!
I have a short notice interview tomorrow morning and just do not know what to wear. I think the position will have a uniform so I don't want to spend out lots on an outfit that I may just wear once!! (Fingers crossed anyway!).
I need to be smart and the outfit I thought (black jersey knee length dress with scarf and leopard print ballerinas) I'd wear my sis in law says is possibly too casual.
I have been a stay at home mum for 7 years now so I am a bit nervous!!
So....does anyone have any ideas of where can I get a cheap but not cheap looking interview outfit from in MCC or DFC please?
TIA

Hey Ladies! Ended up with black skirt and a lovely blouse I guess you'd call it, from Debenhams. Feel fantastic in it and teamed it with some smart black heels. An investment me thinks but hopefully an outfit I won't need again! Thanks for all of your advice and ideas today - couldn't have made these decisions without you! Wish me luck!! x

Go Koton in MOE or Marina Mall. Well priced office wear and lovely choices.

You are most welcome johjoh... I have been Stay at Home Mom for 10 years and was really scared at my first interview since my english is not so good my confidence was really low. Choose carefully the outfit which will put you in the right mindset to get you back to business. Cheers

Thanks Lovelly - I wish I could postpone the interview so I had time to prepare! What will be will be though huh?! Good idea Izzy99 but I haven't time and I am a curvy lady so chances of finding someone to help are thin (bad joke!)! No really. I will check out the stores today x Thanks ladies!

What size are you? Perhaps someone can help you out?

I would choose something more business like (ex.: knee skirts with blouse and heels). But what ever you choose the most important is it has to fit you well. Also I would look carefully to my nails, hair, perfume, and just a few nice joaillerie. Good Luck <em>edited by Lovelly on 16/03/2011</em>

I haven't got anything that vaguely resembles a suit and none of my friends are my size! I will head to MCC today and have a look around :(

All sounds perfect, although not sure on the shoes. Im sure you've got a pair of heel sin your wardrobe :) or the other option is to borrow a suit from a close friend...

This is sooo hard! I had been with the same company for 13 years before I left to have my babies 7 years ago and not had to do anything like this! I am wild inside at the moment but need to keep this contained I guess! Right, I hear you gals. So dress and plain black scarf with dull snakeskin print (M&S - quite sensible) shoes and black bag!? Oh goodness if any of you work there and see me tomorrow I will die!!! lol

Do you have a jacket? Would also wear a jacket and maybe some heels - leopard print at an interview - not good really.

johjoj, thanks/diolch! (blushes slightly) - how about a leopard scarf and then shoes that match your dress (of the dressis plain)? Or some nice earrings/bangle to show your stylish, chic wild side?? I have to say in my previous life in the corporate world, less is more with just a little twist to show your personality. Again, guess depends on the role ... is it a 'wild' role?? (looks at self and thinks "g*d woman I was once quite stylilsh, look what being a SAHM has done to me!")

... I am no expert, dress and scarf sounds good - maybe some other shoes, perhaps something a bit smarter? Depends on the role also ..... good luck!!
