We moved a couple of months ago from the UK and I can highly recommend Ellen Wings at Better Homes. She helped us find our villa and was excellent in all regards. Contact her at [email protected]. I can also recommend the removal and shipping company we used. Really good service, lovely team of people who packed and loaded the container and they have a Dubai partner who deal with customs clearance and delivery of your stuff in Dubai. They were mid price if the Ines we had quote and we would definitely use them again. Simpson's Removals +44 1322 386969. Hope this helps!

When we came here we found the place ourselves by asking the company to help us with apartments. My recommendation would be to rent first, see if you like the place, the area, the weather (summer is unbearable but you can get through it by being indoors mostly), etc...then commit to buying. Prices vary greatly depending on a flat or villa, plus the area. For example JLT is much cheaper than the Marina. Lakes is more expensive than the Springs, etc... Allianz Orient are good with preexisting conditions but the premium does not come cheap if you are looking for an insurance card you can use at a lot of clinics/hospitals. You can get a basic medical cover too that allows you to use for example in one hospital in Dubai only....a friend has this, not the best, costs a fortune for her to visit consultants, etc...But since being here I have found Allianz the most reliable and good (had Alico before), mind you, the company foots this bill.

Hi, I visited Dubai last week, and had no help from estate agents in trying to find a property to rent/buy. Can someone please help me by recommending good estate agents for ideally buying or alternatively renting in the Dubai areas: JLT, Marina, Meadows,Lakes, Spring or even Bur Dubai initially. I am also fishing around for a good relocation company and have looked at many, most with really bad reviews. Can someone recommend a re locator they used to move from the UK to Dubai. Also, what are good health insurance providers that don't charge the earth for preexisting condition? Thanks in advance for any help, I have been here for 10 years and cannot recommend any decent agents! Due to the issues i had with them i went straight to the Landlords propertyfinder.ae and justrentals.com are two sites you can look at to get an idea of area/price although Bur Dubai is very different to the other areas that you are looking at and they are differences in prices for villas and apartments Good Luck with your search
