Has anyone been to Munich or anywhere in Germany for a summer holiday ? We have 3 kids 7 5 and 1 year old is there enough to do in Munich or is there a better place to visit for families ?? Any advice....

Munich is alright, just a short ride to Garmisch am Partenkirchen, which is a fantastic place for kids. And there is Neuschwanstein Castle close as well which I think would be interesting for at least your older child. It will be a hard work sort of holiday, but definitely you could enjoy it.
