yeah I hear you lol....poor guy. If the cat does belong to your landlord tell him to please get his cat fixed so he is not quite a bully...keep yours in for a day or so if you can :)

Nothing to major - 2 deep puncture wounds that have been flushed - lots of skin missing, but all superficial...a course of antibiotics and the shame of having a really BAD haircut;)

Thanks Sue, DH dropped him at the vets this morning, just waiting to hear back. It was a very nasty fight, never seen or heard anything like it (it was in our garage) Took alot of water to get the other cat off him.....To make things worse, think it's the landlords cat from 2 doors down......

yes, they will give him a shot for infection then pills to take for about 4 or 5 days. Depends on the Vet. they will clean the wound and check for others. The skin might be harder, they will probably have to trim jagged edges if any and a good clean, which could mean sedation and pick him up later in the day. Unfortunately, they cannot cover but let the air help heal :)...He will be fine and he wont have an abcess anywhere :). He can be indignent all he wants lol...you are paying the vet bill lol. You might have to keep him in until the skin heals over to prevent infection. He will just have to live with that :)..good luck. :)

OK, so I didn't have any Hydrogen peroxide, but did have some saline so I have washed all his wounds (he is now one very wet and indignant kitty) - he normally sleeps inside and does have his own "room" so tonight I will lock him in there - he has all the comforts in there that he would need. I am reading with DS class in the morning so DH may take him to the vet...we shall see. Thanks Sue - I was hoping you would be around with what to do. I don't think he is in any real risk (for the next 12 hours, I know puncture wounds are bad - that was why I was so worried), other than infection...I would think an anti biotic shot would be in order....do they do that for cats?

you must clean the wounds with hydrogen peroxide, cut it with a bit of water if you like but flush out the wound. You cannot cover it. Put the kitty in a room with a cat box with clean towels, clean litter box clean everwhere :)..food and water. He will be fine until morning unless of course the skin is ripped right off, then I would suggest you contact a vet asap. Al Barsha is open until 10..but might be closed now :( You can, after flushing, and if you have steril pads to put some cold water on the pad and press gently on his skin to relieve some of the pain. Keep him quiet until the vets tomorrw. Dont use anything else on the cat as some/lots are toxic....hydrogen peroxide will clean it...you can also do warm salt water but make sure it is discolved and it will hurt as much as the hydrogen but you must clean the wounds.

Lots of skin missing and at least one puncture wound....I will take him to the vet tomorrow, but is there anything I should do tonight? Not sure about the things I use on the kids being safe on the cat?
