We are about to rent a serviced apartment and on the contract it states we need personal property insurance for our limited personal items ie jewellery, cameras, laptop etc. Does anyone know of policies for this sort of cover that doesn't cost the earth?

Insurance for personal property is a minefield. You would also have to consider which personal items you would normally take on holiday with you, ie cameras, laptops/iPads, jewellery etc as this would/could also come under your personal property insurance policy if they were lost or stolen.

It's not a legal requirement .. it's is for your LL to have Buildings insurance though.. You could buy a safe and install it into the apartment .. there is limited cover for personal possesions but i'm not sure if you can get it here .. you may as well cover the whole lots of your personal possesions.. Try AXA or Prosperity for full cover
