My intention of this tread is not to start a debate over the Libyan issue so I am not asking for people to respond. I simply want to take this opportunity to thank the British people and leadership in the efforts they are taking on behalf of the Libyan people. Sky News and BBC News has been unbelievable and no comparision to American tv. All they seem to be interested in is Charlie Sheen. As an American, I am ashamed. I have made my feelings known to the American government. Obama has blown it big time in my opinion.

So, ladies, my hats off to you for your country's efforts -- you should be proud. Thank you.

I have an answer for you hastings, I just stumbled across an article this morning that Gadaffi has decided to round these people up and use them on the front line as human shields. This is what whatever Libyan survive this will be left to live with should Gadaffi hold on to power. But, hay, Gadaffi only has so many years left -- we still have Saif to look forward to for another 40 or so more after that. I'm sorry, just a little mentally toasted this morning.

I read an article from a jounalist a couple of days ago who said there were (I think he said) 100's of people outside the airport, feces and clothing everywhere, and a real mess. No papers, no passports, and no money. They are too afraid to leave as it's too far to border and there are hundred's of checkpoints between Tripoli and border. Given the current spree, I supposed he'll just shoot them all and bury them. It is not even near right.

I can't help wondering what happened to all those crowds at Tripoli airport that were on the TV screens when Brits. were trying to get out - did they all manage to leave? Actually - it's quite surprising how many people have been to Libya - especially of a certain age!

Wow Norak = we Brits take such a bashing at times but I do think we are caring and compassionate people. When the chips are down we voluntarily put ourselves out and try to do our best, (rightly or wrongly) regardless of race, colour or creed. So, thank you for posting, its much appreciated and I felt I had to respond.

Glad to hear we're doing something right for a change.
