For those living in or looking to move, what's the best way to have a look around to see if we like it? Seems like most of the estate agents use the same generic photos of the grounds.

Can we just drive on up and see? The prices I see for a 2+ is around 130, does that sound about right?

Oh, and can kids ride bikes/scooters around the area?

Any help appreciated ladies.

My friend lives in a 2 bedroom on the 1st floor of Miska and got it for 125K. They do vary in size and layout, but the area is amazing.

We're in a 2 bed (ground floor and big garden) paying 160 but that should come down when our lease is up in May (we will probably move then). The apartment next to us is empty - 3 bed plus study and big garden. Being advertised on Dubizzle at 190. It's not locked so the landlord would probably just tell you to go have a look for yourself. If you look at Dubizzle there seem to be several 3 beds going with a variety of agents. It's a fantastic area - loads within walking distance - gym, Spinneys, cafes, Marzano, Baker & Spice. The whole development is pedestrianised so very safe for bikes and scooters. Two playgrounds - one in Reehan and one in Yansoon and 3 beautiful pools.

And the age old question...who are the best agents for this area (should I bother holding my breath?). Ideally we'd like a 2+study or 3 bedroom near Spinneys, ground floor. Don't care about view. Not asking too much right?

envy you - we spent a very happy year in old town - just go and have a wander around (cut through spinneys and turn right) - we chose Zaafaran based on the location of the actual apartment available - good open aspect - views of the burj and fountains -easy walk to Spinneys and Dubai Mall - wonderful to walk around the lake at this time of year - the different areas of the old town seem confusing at first but you soon get to find your way around yes they use generic photos but the apartments are pretty similar decor wise - you just have to view a few to start getting a feel for the place - decide if you want view outwards or inwards (if you see what I mean) yes kids could ride around happily - all the cars are in underground carparks and so its safe - little play areas doted around - some better than others. Some of the pools are better than others too so check those out if thats important to you - all wonderfully clean but some larger than others and better aspect for sunshine in fact the whole area is beautifully kept and feels so safe Price sounds about right - we negotiated ours down a bit from what they were asking - depending on number of cheques of course
