| Last updated on 14 January 2020One of the most anticipated spectacles of the year in Dubai is upon us! Nobody does it better or bigger than the UAE when it comes to New Year’s celebrations, and this year won’t be any different. We wouldn’t brave the intense traffic on this day if it wasn’t worth it. If it’s your first time in Dubai for New Year’s Eve, you’re definitely in for a treat.
Word of advice though, if you were planning on trying to enjoy the show in perfect spots like the water fountain at the Dubai mall, there will be practically no cheap options in terms of restaurants or cafes. You won’t believe how high the prices go just for this night!
Sitting at Tim Horton’s in the Dubai Mall will set you back Dh1,500 for an outdoor table and Dh750 for the indoor one. However, you will get a four-course meal, gift hamper and unlimited drinks and pastries to soften the blow to your wallet. Across from Tim Horton’s, Five Guys is charging Dh1,200 for their outdoor tables and that includes all you can eat burgers, fries and shakes.

Due to the high prices, many decide to simply stand by the water’s edge, but there’s no guarantees you’ll be able to get there. Last year, the crowds were too big even 6 hours before the fireworks and the mall security had to close off all openings leading to the fountains.
Here are the top places to enjoy the best fireworks in Dubai.
Burj Al Arab
Where: Madinat Jumeirah
Best viewing spots: Jumeirah Road area, The Beach, Black Palace beach
The iconic Burj Al Arab has impressed us year after year with its fireworks, so we’re sure this year won’t be any different.
Burj Khalifa
Where: Downtown Dubai
Best viewing spots: Waterfront at the Dubai Mall, Business Bay, Burj Plaza, Souq Bahar The Residences, Boxpark, Mohammad Bin Rashid Boulevard
The most watched fireworks spectacle across the globe happens here! This year, the fireworks will feature a theme of celebrating national pride and symbolising a bridge between the past and the future. Look forward to the recreation of the Expo 2020 logo through pyrotechnics!
Atlantis the Palm
Where: Palm Jumeirah
Best viewing spots: Jumeirah Beach strip, Kite Beach, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Madinat Jumeirah and Palm Road.
The beautiful Atlantis will be a sight to behold with fireworks around and above their signature arch. They will be played customised music to complement the show.

Global Village
Where: Global Village (Dhs 15 entry)
Best viewing spots: Arabian Ranches and Al Barari
The fireworks at the Global Village this year promise to be the most exciting they’ve ever had. The countdown will be at the big wheel of Fantasy Island for your whole family to enjoy. Additionally, they will have musical fireworks display at the Dancing Fountain.
The Beach (Unconfirmed)
Where: The Beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence
Best viewing spots: Dubai Marina and areas around JBR
A popular celebration spot every year, so expect it to be jam-packed! We suggest you get there very early, at least a few hours in advance, to be able to get a decent spot to view the fireworks show.
Update: While the official Visit Dubai site indicated The Beach would be holding their own New Year's fireworks at midnight, it was later announced no fireworks will be held on that night. The Beach will only hold fireworks on the following days: December 29, January 5 to 7, 13-14, 19 to 21 and 26 to 28.
