Smart gates in Dubai Airport Terminal 3 have restarted to simplify the travel procedures for passengers and staff

Outbound passengers can cut the cues and take advantage of the reopened Smart Gates
Smart gates at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 has resumed operations for passengers, announced The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA).
Those flying out of Dubai will now be able to use the smart gate by scanning their passport only.
The move is in line with the UAE government's precautionary measures against Covid-19, ensuring the safety for all staff and passengers. For now, scanning your Emirates ID is not available.
"The restart of the smart gates helps to facilitates and simplifies the travel procedures, as the smart gates consider the safest way to travel in light of the current conditions that the world defeat against the COVID-19," said His Excellency Major General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.
"This step helps to enhance the passenger's confidence in the emirates of Dubai about this procedures which constitute a safety umbrella for them," he continued.
H.E Al Marri added that the GDRFA Dubai continues to provide the best services for passengers though Dubai airports, in accordance with the precautionary and security measures to ensure the safety of the passengers and GDRFA Dubai employees.
Earlier this year, international travel restrictions due to Covid-19 transformed global air traffic into a skeleton of its once bustling activities.
As the UAE slowly and safely resumes airline economic activities, Dubai airports have been witnessing an increase in the number of passengers, heralding a new phase of tourism activity in Dubai.
