Starting with 400 celebrities, it will eventually feature over 10,000 names...

Hollywood's Walk of Fame is arguably one of the most star-studded attractions in the United States, and it seems that Dubai will be getting its very own version soon.

Created in the 1950s, the original star-studded attraction is home to over 2,600 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars with the names of some of the world's most well-known stars. Today, in what is an exciting announcement, Dubai developer Emaar has confirmed that the emirate is set to get its own version.

Located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai, the 'Dubai Stars' is set to launch in October 2019, with 400 of the proposed 10,000 stars being unveiled... That's four times bigger than the Hollywood original!

In their announcement, Emaar confirmed that the walk of fame will salute "stars and influencers from all over the world."

So, who will be featured in Dubai's own walk of fame? Well, the first 400 names will be decided by the general public, as Emaar plans to start the project with a global social campaign asking people from all over the world to nominate their favourite celebrities and influencers.
