New Year's Eve celebrations are very likely to continue, unaffected by the weather.

While the festive weekend is over, the UAE's weather gave residents more reason to stay warm and wrapped up, with scattered rain hitting the country on Monday December 26th as many residents returned to work from Christmas holidays.

Heavy downpours were reported across the nation, from Fujairah to Abu Dhabi. Drivers have been urged to exercise caution while on the roads to avoid accidents due to the showers.

With such strong and gloomy weather, some residents are worried if the rain will last all week and may ruin New Year's Eve plans.

But not to worry! According to the Emirates' National Centre of Meteorology's (NCM) forecast, the rain won't be for much longer. Officials expect the showers to dry up by Wednesday December 28th, so rest assured you can still head out for NYE celebrations.

For those looking to ring in 2023 by watching the fireworks outside, be sure to bundle up as temperatures on December 31st midnight are expected to drop to around 17 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday will see temperatures as high as 25 degrees Celsius along the coast, and the skies will clear up by Thursday, just in time for New Year's.
