You might have noticed that your service providers name has changed again on your phone, this time displaying “30 Nov”.
Service providers du and Etisalat changed their carrier name as part of the celebration for Martyr's Day (previously known as Martyrs' Day) on November 30th.
This also marks the start of a long weekend celebrating UAE's 46th National Day and Prophet Mohammad's birthday. A four day weekend was announced for the public sector and a three day weekend for the private sector this weekend.
The first time we saw service provider's names change was back in September when Etisalat and du changed their carrier names to "UAE KSA TOGETHER" in celebration of Saudi Arabia’s National Day.
As soon as residents noticed the change this morning, they quickly took to Twitter to share the news with the world.
