Review: Pamper Me By ESPA at ShuiQi Spa, Atlantis The Palm

In the beautiful lounge area I was welcomed with a generous gift bag of body butter, skin serum and hair mud musk, and guided through my day which was perfectly planned out for me. Nothing shouts indulgence like the prospect of a deluxe spa escape and so far, ShuiQi’s Pamper Me package promised to set the bar high!

Upon my arrival into the changing facilities I was greeted with a fluffy bath robe, fresh towels and flip-flops, so I could immediately relax and start to re-charge. I was led through the immaculate and spotlessly clean rooms which consisted of showers, vanity tables complete with hairdryers, straighteners, sprays and serums, a hot tub, steam room, sauna, ice fountain and relaxation room.

There were plenty of water bottles to keep you hydrated, as the relaxation room also provided juices, fruit and glossy magazines to flick through. After a dip in the hot tub, a steam and a sauna, I could already feel my body sinking into rejuvenation, as the spa facilities were the epitome of Zen.

The morning flowed effortlessly, as I was then led into a magical hallway of floating stones on water, candles, orchids and the odd the seahorse (it is Atlantis, after all), as I made my way into the treatment room –whilst admiring the stunning aesthetic. The Pamper Me package includes a 75 minute ESPA treatment and massage, with an invigorating full body Salt Scrub, followed by a relaxing full body Aromatherapy Massage.

First was the full body Salt Scrub which cleansed, exfoliated and restored my skin which was dry from Dubai’s desert conditions and in desperate need of some TLC. My skin instantly felt smooth and the results are long-lasting –it’s still silky soft!

Next, was the full body Aromatherapy Massage, where the amazing therapist concentrated on relieving even my deepest muscular tension and left every limb feeling relaxed and restored. I was constantly put at ease, made to feel comfortable and completely stress-free. It was one of the best massages I had to date and I will definitely need to return for another treatment!

After the treatment I was left to rest in the relaxation room and given my most taxing thought of the day, which detoxifying tea do I choose?! I went for peppermint, sunk into the day-bed and felt totally refreshed. After another use of the spa facilities, I was ready to move into the next part of the day. Before I left the spa area I had to try out all the samples and de-frizz my hair with every mouse and serum on other. I also browsed the ESPA shop with a 10% discount offered on retail with the package.

With my skin polished to perfection, my body hydrated and my mind relaxed, I was ready to lounge by the pool and catch some rays. The Pamper Me by ESPA package includes an afternoon of access to the beach and pool, so I was able to enjoy Atlantis’ Royal Pool, Zero Entry Pool and Royal Beach.

With Atlantis floating majestically in the ocean, on the end of The Palm, there was pleasant breeze which made Dubai’s summer heat more than bearable. I strolled along the beach admiring the view of skyscrapers in the distance and perched myself poolside where I made the most of the luxury hotel’s amenities.

The price for the whole package starts from AED 550, which you would easily expect for just a day at the Atlantis pool and beach –as my spa day experience seemed worthwhile and definitely reasonable, with a three-course meal still to come!

I decided on a late lunch, which the ShuiQi Spa had arranged for me and opted for Italian cuisine at the The Edge, the package also includes a Tex-Mex option at The Shore restaurant. The menu was full of choice, the service was great and I enjoyed a starter of a warm chicken salad, a main of creamy mushroom pasta and a refreshing dessert of sorbet. Drinks were excluded, but the lunch was delicious and was the perfect addition to my stress-relieving and indulgent day.

The package is priced at AED 550, Sunday to Thursday, and AED 650, Friday and Saturday –which makes it affordable and worthwhile, as I’m definitely in favour of ditching more Friday brunches for a day of pampering and lounging by an infinity pool!
